SANTA ROSA, CA - September 11, 2012 - Osseon® announces the release of Osseoflex® SN+ (steerable needle) for the treatment of vertebral compression fractures (VCF). Osseoflex SN+ is the latest addition to Osseon’s family of vertebral augmentation medical devices.
Osseoflex® SN+ is steerable and can be used for either bipedicular or unipedicular access, cavity creation, and vertebral augmentation within the vertebral body. Osseoflex SN+ shares all of the features and benefits of the previously released Osseoflex® SN, with the addition of a larger gauge and a stiffer needle for cement delivery during treatment of compression fractures in the vertebral spine.
“Both the Osseoflex SN+ and the Osseoflex SN steerable needles provide patients and physicians with unprecedented treatment options. They are the only VCF cavity creation devices that allow for bipedicular straight access, bipedicular directional access, and unipedicular directional access to the vertebral body,” stated John Stalcup, Osseon’s President.
